The Good Dog Minute 6/16/14: How to E-collar Heel with Foosa the GSD

Posted on July 17th, by sean in Videos. No Comments

Hey all, I’ve been getting lots of requests to create a video that shows how to train your dog to Heel on E-collar – and here it is! I’m working with a GSD named Foosa who just arrived for a two week board and train for leash reactivity issues with dogs and critters. This was our second session with Foosa. The day before we had done some basic prong work to get her in the neighborhood behavior wise, and then today we went straight to e-collar. This video shows start to finish – from low pressure work and guidance all the way up to corrections. It’s nothing fancy, just some basic position and state of mind work, but this simple exercise has a tremendous effect on dogs with reactivity issues and just about every other behavior problem. Three quarters of the way through we encountered a couple dogs and Foosa just chilled out and watched them go by. Powerful stuff. Hope you find it helpful. 🙂
